I recently moved, after living at Barton's Crossing for over 6 years. To be honest, I should have moved a long time ago - but since I travel for work frequently it just wasn't worth the time to move. But recently, I just couldn't take it any more.
Let's start with the positives: in-door parking is GREAT. Loved it! The pool is BEAUTIFUL, and well kept. They recently replaced all of the chairs, etc. The layout of the apts are well designed, and they have a functional fireplace. The bathrooms are BEAUTIFUL and spacious. I miss having a large bathroom.
OK - now for the negatives: The maintenance is HORRIBLE. Many times, they would have to come 4 times to fix the same thing, and they would leave my apartment a mess. The carpet in the apartment is CHEAP,and it feels like they don't even use padding. They invest NO MONEY internally on the apartments. They recently began to redo the outside, which looks beautiful enough to attract residents, but the insides of each apartment, they did NOTHING in the 6 years I lived there. Over a year ago, they promised everyone microwaves, and never delivered on it. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do, there is no sound proof ability, and no concrete between apts. leading to loud sounds. I have had SKETCHY neighbors, and overall the area isn't safe. There are cops around all the time, and myself as well as others have had attempted break-ins. They don't accept packages at the office anymore, you need to go to UPS or FedEx directly to pick up anything that is delivered to you.
I'm sure there is much more I can say, but that covers the basics. There definitely are perks to the complex, but overall, I just don't think it's worth it. Search long and hard before you commit to this place.
