Not too bad

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I moved in at the beginning of March. I was able to get a special with the 1st month free. The biggest problem I had with the leasing staff was they were a bit disorganized. I did my application via mail and the phone. Then I came up at the beginning of February to see the building...they thought I was moving in that day. She had the lease ready and had to redo everything since I wasn't moving in til March. When I arrived in March, the lease still had the old February dates, so she had to rewrite the lease. To this day, some of the dates are still off.
They also gave me the wrong address. The complex has multiple buildings, each with a different street address. When I tried to get my cable set up, they couldn't find the address. Finally, I found out it was cause they had given me the wrong address.
Now that I'm moved in, things have gone pretty smoothly. I filled out an inspection of the apartment, and maintenance took care of any problems within a day or two. They came back once the weather was nicer to replace the screens on my windows that were ripped or broken.
Each unit has one garaged spot. There is outdoor parking too, but it seems like it's difficult to get. Right now they are renovating the complex. They are currently working on putting a new roof on each building. It's pretty loud while they work, from about 8am til 7pm. It's also taken away a lot of the parking.
The appliances in my unit are old cause I have one that hasn't been renovated yet. My washer and dryer work pretty good, but the dishwasher is really loud. They said they were renovate my apartment at some point, depending on whether I renew my lease. The renovated apartments have newer appliances and updated cabinetry in the kitchen and bath.
My two biggest complaints:
-for outgoing mail, there is a bin that is not enclosed. I worry that someone could steal my outgoing mail. I only use it if I absolutely have to.
-the office lost my rent check. It makes me nervous that this could happen again.
Things I like:
-apartment size isn't too bad. I live by myself with two cats so it's a good size for me.
-closet size is huge. It's a walk-in dividing the bedroom and the bathroom. I have my hanging clothes on one side, and my storage on the other side.
-decent amount of cupboard space, although no shelves in pantry/utility closet off the kitchen. I bought wire shelves at Target so I can use it as a pantry.
-cannot hear my neighbors. I occasionally hear the dishwasher or washer/dryer run or the toilet flush, but never people. Once you close the door to the hallway, I don't hear anything, unless it's really loud. Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7
