Beacon Hill Apartments

Good place to live. Great value. From: apoc3 Date posted: 6/4/2003 Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2003   I've lived at Beacon Hill for a little over 3 years now. I've found it to be a great place to live for the price and I have very few complaints. All utilities are included. The AC/Heat issue can be a problem sometimes, but usually only in the Spring or Fall and even then it only lasts a few days. I've lived in both building types (a 1 BR w/den and 2 BR) and I can't think of any problems with either. Parking is ample. Very rarely do I have to park more than 20 yards away from my building. And considering that we don't have to pay $100 for visitor tags like most places, there is very little room for complaint. The grounds are always kept in good shape. Snow hasn't been a problem at all. The large snowfall in 2003 was handled well. The complex was able to plow us out faster than the local streets did. The apartments are large and in good shape. I've always felt safe in the complex (although I've never seen anything resembling a security force). Its in a good neighborhood. There is a shopping complex within walking distance. Metro is less than a mile away. The staff is always nice and willing to help. Like the previous reviewers stated, we do seem to have a strange number of fire trucks that come through the parking lots. They definitely don't seem to know how to put on a screen door properly. With major problems, maintenance can be a little slow, but usually they are very prompt. The stomping noises from the apartment above can be loud at times. Kids playing outside can be loud too. My biggest complaint is that they are opening a Target next door and I'm guessing the traffic is going to be awful once it opens.
