I have lived in a lot of different places, and this one is pretty good. I think the roach problem depends on the building and upon how clean you are. There are definitely bugs in my building, but I had maybe 2 in my apartment the whole first month. I spray regularly and take my trash out every night before I go to bed and keep things clean and I think I've seen 1 in the last month (a little one). I do see them in the laundry room but I've just sort of gotten used to it. I'm from the west coast (I was 18 before I ever even saw a roach in person) and it seems like this roach thing is almost impossible to get away from in the mid-atlantic. My first apartment in Arlington didn't have any bugs but it was also 1579 a month for a one bedroom. You pay for what you get. That said, I wouldn't rent on the first floor but the staff is responsive and they try to get the community together for activities once in awhile if you're into that sort of thing. I can see myself renewing a lease with Belle Haven.
