Much of what the author says is on point. Apartment living has its ups and downs. We are fortunate in that we have quiet and very polite neighbors. In all the years we have lived here, we only had problems with noise only once. A teen and her father moved in. There were several hours when she was home alone. She would invite her classmates over, and we'd get loud music and some typical teen behavior. A quick chat with her father stopped the problem immediately. Highway noise can be a problem if you don't take little steps to add ambient noise to your environment. There is a playground and the pool right outside our patio and windows. We have never had a problem with noise. We have also heard the "mouse" problems, but have never seen one or heard our neighbors or friends in the other buildings mention it. The best advice is to take the time to make a trip to the facility, take a tour, talk to someone who lives here, and make your own educated decision. We have yet to find an apartment that offers so much (location, security, friendly staff, quick maintenance). If there was another complex that had the rent even $300 cheaper, we wouldn't move. My wife's job location is less than 2 miles away. Metro is easily accessible. Make your own educated decision based on seeing the facility.
