Good place to live.

This building houses condominuims with private owners. I rented from a lawyer in Arlington. There is an association that residents pay monthly dues to. But since I was not an owner, I don't know what the dues are, and I never went to a board meeting or owners' meeting.

Here is what my experience was like:

I lived here in 1999 and, as a single female, I felt very safe. However, I would not recommend walking around at night alone. The area is pretty urban.

The building is literally 1 minute to I-395. I worked in Rosslyn and it took me about 10 minutes to get to work at 7 a.m.

Parking can be a problem after 9 p.m. or so and the additional parking is two blocks away.

There are two bus stops right in front of the building, whicih is on a busy street, King Street. Some people complained about the traffic, but it did not bother me.

With a wide range of nationalities and ages, you will be exposed to people of all different backgrounds here.

From musicians on the second floor to a USA Today editor on the fourth, a US News & World Report writer on the sixth floor, there were also lots of retired people, Canadian snowbirds, Pentagon employees and small young families here.

The older people can be crabby from time to time. When something was stolen from the laundry room, like socks or something, the retired ladies would post notes in the elevator about how it was wrong for little kids to act that way. It was kinda funny.

This building has quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., so no loud parties. The management is very helpful and they regularly spray for bugs, change the A/C filters and will change your fuses if they blow. I felt very comfortable here.

Sometimes you could hear people in other apartments, but not often. I don't mind noise because I grew up with three siblings.

Pets are allowed here ... small ones. However my dog is a collie that weighs 50 lbs. and he was okay there. There is a small grassy area for pets and the management supplies residents with doggy poo bags. Pet owners are expected to clean up. Across the street there is a dog park, so that was nice.

My apartment was a 1BR with beautiful Parquet floors, a nice balcony and lots of closet space. In 1999, I paid $740/month, which included all utilities except cable and phone. I would definitely live here again, in this mid-rise building.

Overall, my experience was good. My landlord was great.
