Overall, I recommend it. Only a few small issues...

Overall, Braddock Lee is a very nice place to live. It's extremely quiet, and besides hearing the occassional person in the hallway, even weekend nights are peaceful. The neighborhood is very safe and kid-friendly. We've been lucky and have excellent neighbors - all dog friendly since it's one of designated "pet" buildings. The grounds are amazing and extremely well-kept - they're beautiful in spring and summer. The nearby Ft. Ward park is the perfect place to walk a dog (or yourself). We live in an "rennovated" place with new carpet and mildly new fixtures. To second other opinions listed on this site, yes, the plumbing IS old and slow drains and sometimes incorrect water temps are the norm. And there are no fans in the bathroom - leaving the door open during hot showers is sometimes a must. The heating/cooling system is also ancient, but works well enough. The only issue is that heating and cooling are only turned on at designated times of the year - you can't have both at the same time, and invetiably there is a hot day in early spring where you're left without air conditioner, but it's not that bad.
To their credit, the staff is very attentive, and maintenance comes without fail and quickly. We've been locked out after hours, and they responded promptly. The head maintenance man is very friendly and professional. Management is a little inflexible on some annoying things - you can't make rent payments online, you can only refill your laundry card during office hours inside the office, and you can only get a guest parking permit during office hours. That's right, if you have a last minute guest after 6pm, they take the risk of getting towed. And they DO tow (I'm a victim myself).
We live on the top floor, and it's great - but I'd highly recommend a patio apartment if there's one available (which isn't always the case).
