The complaints are too long to list, but let me take a shot at it.

Office manager Maddy seems to have a hard time understanding English, despite being born in this country. Most disputes were resolved by my simply wearing her out as she has no attention span and no verbal comprehension skills.

Rather than communicating effectively, the Mark Winkler company feels the best way to deal with tenants is to threaten them with fines. When installing new windows, I received a notice one day in advance as I was leaving for a vacation that all my furniture had to be moved out of the way or I would be fined. I pointed out that the contractors had been around for a month, and that one-day's notice from them had to be pure laziness.

My car was towed down the street once as they posted a sign in front of it the day before saying they needed to landscaping there. They did not feel it was necessary to put signs in the apartment foyer itself, or notify the tenants at all.

Company has some sort of game with revoking and reissuing parking passes. Office staff also do not understand the terms of the tenants leases.

Office frequently closes so weekend staff can go play around. I don't know where they go, but one time I witnessed leaving en masses to go for ice cream.

Service requests are a joke. We had an emergency with our bathtub drain clogging. We called the office that morning. No reponse. In the evening, we called the emergency maintenance guy, who fixed the clog but bitched about it being his birthday. SIX MONTHS LATER, a guy comes to the door to fix our bathtub drain, probably in response to the original service request (I am not joking or exaggerating).

The day I moved in, i complained about the grout coming off the bathroom tiles. Two years later, this was never fixed. I had to lobby for a month to get handles to my bathroom vanity, which were not even the right ones.

Anyway, email me if you want the whole list. Apparently, Mark Winkler himslef was a nice man and ran his properties well. But he died, and his children, or whoever runs the company now, are a bunch of social deviants.
