Roaches, Roaches, Roaches

At first glance, this apartment complex is in great shape (new appliances, carpet, etc...). When you spend your first night, however, you will be greeted with hundreds of roaches crawling all over your walls, closets, and cabinets. The problem is grossly ridiculous and after several months of incessant complaining to the front office staff, my problem has not decreased. I have even spent over $100 on my own roach-control measures (poisons, traps, etc...), but to no avail. The roach problem is vested deep in the walls and there seems to be little hope with getting rid of them.
In addition to the incredible roach infestation, the laundry room is always covered in water due to leaks, which causes a very dangerous, dirty environment. Furthermore, there are only 2 operable washers and dryers for the entire building, which makes it nearly impossible to get a machine at your personal convenience.
A few other, more positive notes: the free shuttle to the metro is great; I have never had trouble finding a parking place; and the workout facilities are nice (as are the swimming pools).
Bottom line: If you don't mind having roaches all over your apartment for as long as you reside in Brookdale and you don't mind a disguisting, dangerous laundry facility, then this would be a nice choice for an apartment.
If I could make my apartment decision all over again, I would look elsewhere. There are many other affordable apartments that aren't infested. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C
