I lived in Brookdale for 1 1/2 years and am so happy to be finally leaving. I have never encountered such rude and careless management in my life. Many of the buildings are infested with bed bugs not to mention roaches. My daughter and I were bit severely by bed bugs to the point of scaring and management did not take the problem seriously. After forgetting to put us on the extermination schedule they finally sent a roach extermunator who could not get rid of the bed bugs. I had to take my problem to corporate which is the ONLY way to get management to take you seriously. They finally agreed to hire an exterminator who specialized in bed bugs. From talking to other residents I learned that there are several infested units that are being neglected. If you dont speak english and know how to work the system your voice will never be heard and you might as well get used to the bed bugs.
Rent is way to high for a slum. I pay nearly 1300 for a one bedroom and den.
I have encountered several other problems while living at Brookdale and management ALWAYS gives the worst possible solution. If you have any issues dont waist time with Janet the woman behind the curtain... Just take your complaint straight to corporate - JGB Properties.

I cant wait to leave this God forsaken complex... I feel like I live in a third world country.

You are really great to put your name here Racheal. This is INDEED the worst community one can ever think of! Not just brookdale, its Lynbrook/Meadowcreek too! Overall staff should be fired and recruit new team to help Markcenter grow. The community is as such excellent.. greenery for instance.. but because of the BAD neighbors and POOR management, even I ESCAPED from this god forsaken community recently!!! Cheers to you and all others who read this comment and avoid enter this HELL
