Overall, these townhomes are a good deal for this area. I am split on how to feel about them however.

Pros:

-No one above or below you.
-Neighborhood very nice and quiet (not to
mention very scenic).
-Parking is adequate.
-Park with nice jogging path just behind
complex.
-Easy access to bus routes, metro station and
mall.
-Huge basement. (some units come with an
attic instead of a basement)
-Good public school system.

Cons:

-Third bedroom in 3 BR is very non-functional
unless used for an office. We have a 6 year
old in there and she even complained about
how cramped it is.
-Upstairs usually uncomfortable. Too hot
during the late spring and summer, too cold
during the late fall and winter. This leads
to the next con.
-High utility bills from having to run the AC
and heater so much to make the upstairs
liveable. Average winter gas bill and
summer electricity bill - $175.00, which to
me is absolutely ridiculous.
-Our basement leaked everytime it rained hard
(which is frequent in northern VA). Not
a little leak, I mean big-huge-gallons-of-
water-on-the-floor type of leak.
-There was a major mold problem in the
unit. The basement was extremely humid and
grew mold easily. The windows throughout
the unit would sweat on the inside during
the winter (and actually leave puddles of
water on the window sills). The
accumulation of water would cause mold to
grow on the window frames and walls of the
room.
-Maintenance would come out when called, but
frequently would just look over the problem
and never come back to actually fix it.
(as far as I know, the basement still floods
when it rains)
-The full bathroom is extremely tiny and
cramped if more than two people live in the
unit.
-Bedrooms awkwardly shaped and hard to get
a room full of furniture to fit nicely.

Neutral:

-The office staff was nice and courteous.

There is no pool and you are responsible for all of your utilities, but you get to live in a townhouse with entrances on the first floor. Check them out fully before you decide to move here. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV
