I have lived at Brookeville for approximately one year. I love it here. I must agree that the third bedroom is not much of a bedroom, but I wanted to use it as an office anyway - plus, you can notice that it's small when you view the house before signing a lease (if your smart). Great location, great parking (even when you have to park on the street), safe location (except for the bike trail after dark), love the thought of the vanity bathroom downstairs (yes, it's called a vanity bathroom, notice the amount of space'). We've never had a problem with neighbors, staff, bugs or rodents. The best part of living here is that you get more room than an apartment, reasonable priced rent for this area, excellent community, the staff is totally different than what I have read, they are dependable and maintanence does an excellent job and are prompt when you call them.
In the winter the heating is great, in the summer the house can seem divided (meaning when you're downstairs you're in Antarctica, when your upstairs you're in Jamaica), which should be expected for a house/apartment built in or before the sixties, especially in Alexandria. Which is also a complaint for any other house in Alexandria that is not newly built or was built in or before the sixties (trust me, I've lived in Alexandria my whole life, I should know).
Brookeville is a great place to live if you are tired of living in an apartment and not quite ready to buy a house.
