Overall a clean/comfortable place to live

I lived in a 2BR/1B townhouse for a year (July 2004-2005). It was a little too expensive for me to live there and save for a house, which is why I left.
Management responded same/next day for all of my requests. A few bugs when the weather changed but they went away after they sprayed and I never had another problem. Decent people too.
Other residents kept to themselves. I barely met my neighbors except to say hello. Maybe that's just a city mentality.
Parking was not a problem.
Metro station was a little far. 20 minute bus ride. Commute into the city via bus to Pentagon, etc. took about 40 minutes each way, even during tourist season.
Enjoyed living there.

I am thinking about moving into this place. I will be working at the Pentagon. Any problems with crime (drugs, car thefts, etc) in this area? Do they raise the rent every year?
