10 true facts about EOS 21:
1. Parking is very difficult if you come home later then the 9-5 crowd, I work 10-10 and by 11pm I have a real hard time finding parking. Oh and once my car was actually towed because they didn't see my obviously displayed parking sticker.
2. There is mold, the AC/Heating units are a great place for a mold science project, the system operates on condensation which in turn helps to generate said heating and air conditioning. They are supposed to check this often but I actually had to call the City of Alexandria to have them confirm that there is in fact MOLD in the units, and for Mr. Crick, I DO HAVE A LETTER PROVING THEIR FINDINGS. And I did report the problem in a 3 page complaint letter for repairs that needed to be taken care of.
3. Crime and lots of it all you have to do is go to http://www3.alexandriava.gov/police/crime_reports/reporter. and do a search for crimes in the 100 to 400 block of S Van Dorn and you will find at least 30 reported cases, some of which happened in my building, i.e. drug bust and building next door i.e. murder of woman who worked for pentagon. I even had a beach chair stolen from my patio one morning.
4. Older not remodeled apartments are falling apart, these have some serious issues so if you do decide to rent here don't take them up on a older model cause you will be quite sorry.
5. THEY CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL $60 FOR A VERY SMALL WASHER/DRYER TO BE ADDED TO THE APARTMENT. It is so not worth the money, they can hold a max of 4 pairs of size 12 women's jeans and it takes approx. 4 hrs per load, I am constantly doing laundry on a day to day basis and it's never ending.
6. I understand the whole EHO thing but come on in 2 years I have lived here I have had 6 sets of neighbors all of which end up getting evicted (little white or pink folded letters stuck on doors tell all), my last set of neighbors have like 4 kids living in a 1 bedroom apartment with a poopy diaper bin on the patio and I think the woman popped out another last month. The other side has like 5 grown adults and 2 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment and they are ALWAYS blaring spanish music late into the night on the weekends.
7. Dog Poop, and lots of it not being picked up, not to mention the fact that outside the entry ways of the buildings it smells like a toilet cause dog owners allow their dogs to pee right outside the door.
8. Broken entry doors, my buildings door was broken for a month anyone could come and go.
9. Call boxes don't work... All the 2 years I've lived here not once was my name entered into the box, makes it a real pain when pizza is delivered.
10. Yes shopping is close and the metro is about a mile away and they have a bus that takes you there but in reality those perks don't make up for the fact that you are basically living in a substandard complex that is probably in my opinion one of the worst I've lived in so far and to put perspective on this I am 33 years old and have been renting apartments since I was 18, I have lived at over 10 different complexes.
This is an honest review of the problems with this complex, there are some good things such as:
1. It is quiet inside the apartment from side to side and above but you can hear slamming doors in the hallway very clearly and you can hear people pass by as they walk by my patio.
2. The pools are nice even though I rarely had the opportunity to use them (hours didn't work with my work hours)
3. Tennis court is nicely lit, there used to be 2 of them and they tore one out it is finally growing some grass in the vacant muddy field they left behind.
4. Exercise equipment is decent, but it is not open 24 hours which again made it difficult for me to use due to work hours.
5. Has a theater but again hours are not good for working people.
6. Mostly 24 hour maintenance turn around even late at night for emergencies.
7. Bug guy comes every month (don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but at least the roaches are taken care of)
8. Grounds are fairly nice although they need more lighting especially in the parking around the R building.
9. Laundry room on site for all those times you get tired of trying to do it in your very small machine.
10. Management is mostly polite and will hear your complaints

Contact my attorney in Alexandria, Peter Stackhouse, who has already dealt with these sobs.

Have your water tested - the red rimming you see is probably what is making you sick. Call Mark Nell at the City of Alexandria and the complex attorney, Fromme in Fairfax. Don't bother with management or ownership - this is the way they want it. Look through the law and the lease - many violations - and break your contract...

1. Parking is a pain especially the later you return home. Parking with most communities are the same exact way trust me... Try living in DC and paying for parking.. 2. I contacted the health department due to mold, mice, roaches and other vermin I share my home with. I never had these issues in my apartment.. did you contact the office to report it? 3. The health department has several complaints about the complex. ?? 4. The maintenance come into your apartment without having a maintenance request. I always pay attention to the memo's I receive at my door and have not had maintenance enter without me putting a request in or for scheduled services. 5. My neighbors are 6 people living in a 2 bedroom apt with dirty diaper bin on the patio. Did you report this or are you just complaining 6. Thieves run rampant around here, they actually stole my chair off my patio. Did you report it to the office? 7. Stinks, the halls, the apartments everything smells terrible. My apartment smells good, I clean it! 8. Management are incompetent. 9. Liars, they lie to you about your costs, then don't give you a copy of your lease. I received a copy of my lease, all I had to do is just ask for it. 10. BS ameneties, they have theater which is always closed, their gym is ok but always needs work, the pools are dirty and they have one tennis court while the other that used to exist is now a big dirt pile that looks like an eyesore. I have played tennis, I used the gym, I swim here in the summer I like it. I agree with the movie theatre hours... 11. Drug bust in my building. Came home one day to cops surrounding my building with shields and guns. Do you ever watch the news, things do happen EVERYDAY!! 12. A murder in the building next to mine. Again came home to walk my dog and there were cops all over the place. Still being investigated, again unfor. things like this will happen. No where you ever go will be 100% safe.

ARE you kidding? The Mgt. is the worst, the Company that pays them is cutting costs and it's OBVIOUS the REASON there's 6 people in one Apt. is that they are SO desperate to get anyone who will live in the SLUM that the EOS complex has become that they do not perform credit checks and illegals are setting up shop in this community. They are NOT on the lease, hence they have no access keys and so the doors are ALWAYS broken and wide open to anyone's entry, they cut down the trash removal, so the tons of crap that is piling UP to the top of the trash chute is of course stinking up the common areas and also providing plenty of feeding and breeding ground for the vermin, mice, roaches etc. that you all keep claiming aren't in YOUR apt. but then you are obviously one of the mgt. plants anyway, so of course you don't have bugs in YOUR apt. because you probably live elsewhere any way...and if you happen to live on site, I'm sure you're making damned sure YOUR place gets regular pest control, where-as the rest of the complex can just go and hang itself. To anyone who honestly believes any positive reviews of this place, please don't be fooled if you're dumb enough to go on the tour of their model, it first off it looks nothing like what you actually get anyway, and I was a resident of 5 yrs. the first few of which were fine no issues. with the various name changes the complex has undergone, has come along with cheaper and less caring mgt. companies who are running this place into the ground and are lining their pockets with what ever they can get til some developer finally gets the property and turns it all condo if they can. Expect nothing to get better I promise you.

Well to the person who last responded.. They just got rid of the trash removal in each building and just opened up the compactors last week... Not on the date you posted this. The 6 people living in one apartment must not have been reported b/c I suppose I can easily bring in a few roommates without notifing managment, so it's the tenants responsiblty, or as a neighbor, report this and stop complaining.. geeze, what a bunch of babies! I went to throw trash out today in the compactor and couln't believe how lazy my neighbors (meaning anyone, not everyone, at EOS are. There were bags and bags of trash, yet when i opened the compactor door (as instructed on the directions ON the compactor) it was almost empty. This is not managements fault, this is OUR fault. We are leaving trash outside, it's disgusting. I'm not friends or know anyone who works here. I'm just an EOS resident who is tired of you babies complaining about something that isn't the apartments fault. If you have issues, call the office or write them an email. I've done it myself and let me tell you, within 24 hours I received a response and some sort of action was in place. All i can say, keep your apartment clean to prevent roaches. (Common sense) If there's a problem report it to management not here. Stop being such babies.. geeze. I can see exactly who you guys were in elementry school... The ones crying about everything, geeze! get a life!

Hello ambarry1975, I have asked you to contact me when you stated how unhappy you were on another post. Unfortunately, you never contacted me. I will extend the offer again. My e-mail address is jcrick@bozzuto.com. If you don't want me to address your concerns and simply want to vent in a public forum that is your prerogative and I will leave you to it. I hope you will give me the opportunity to assist you. Side note on the Movie room: I agree that they previously kept it locked too often. It is now kept open from 8AM to 10PM with a movie running at all times. If you would like to reserve it during those hours please contact the office. I would love that room to get more use I think it has been an underutilized amenity for far too long.

Joe Crick is a joke. This post exist for the many who are unsatisfied by the multiple conditions here and have been unsatisfied by management response. Don't fall for the phoney baloney"contact me crap".Lift yourself up and and move into a quality place. This isn't it.
