I am writing this to let other's know what the Alexandria City Health Department found when they inspected my apartment and nearby building in the same complex. I am 33 years old and am diagnosed with lung disease, I am not a smoker, this is directly related to the mycotoxins that is created by mold. This mold was found in the walls, in the AC/Heater and in the bathroom. Please have your apartment tested before you move in and even while you are a resident. Don't let this happen to you and your family. I am now working with the State Health Department to get this further reviewed.
Below is some information about Toxic Mold.
Toxic mold produces mycotoxins, which are poisonous substances that can affect the entire body of humans. Mycotoxins can be inhaled by people through the air, ingested through food, and can also come in contact with skin, resulting in many illnesses. Different molds produce different mycotoxins, which also depends on what king of material the toxic mold is growing on. The most common illnesses that are caused due to exposure to mycotoxins are:
1) Respiratory Illnesses: Mycotoxins in toxic mold can affect the lungs and result in a host of respiratory problems. These include difficulty in breathing, stuffy noses, and are even known to cause bleeding in the lungs, which can lead to death.
2) Digestive Tract Illnesses: Toxic mold can cause liver diseases such as fibrosis and necrosis. It can also cause vomiting, diarrhea, and can even result in internal bleeding in the intestines.
3) Reproductive Illnesses: Exposure to toxic mold can cause people to become infertile and can also negatively affect the entire reproductive and hormonal cycle in people.
Highly Serious Illnesses: Toxic mold can also be responsible for a number of very serious and life-threatening illnesses, if exposure to toxic mold is continuous and prolonged. These illnesses include:
- Cancer
- Tuberculosis
- Lupus
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
- Chronic Fatigue Disorder
- Fibromyalgia
- Epstein-Barr

I had the same problem, but mine was more of a severe allergy. I have a letter from the Alexandria City Health Department as well. I moved out for the very same reasons. I don't know what Mr. Crick is trying to do here but he is in denial. I lived at EOS 21 for over 2 years and one of the police officers who I know was coughing up blood and had to move out of EOS 21 due to exposure to toxins. This place is totally bad news.

Here is what I know as fact. The building inspector was recently at the property to inspect the renovations we are doing at the clubhouse; There were no issues. The health inspector was just out to inspect the new compactors and found no violations and nothing outstanding i.e. the above claims of mold. I have asked the above to send me these alleged letters that say we have mold violations and I have received no such letters. The simple truth is an 1180 unit community is not going to let a health code violation go unanswered, we would get shut down. Besides the fact that it doesn't make business sense. I have too much personal pride to allow something like that to happen at a community where I work. I actually tried to get this post removed for false information but apartmentratings.com has an auto message that says, "False information is not a reason to remove a post." I offer my e-mail address (jcrick@bozzuto.com) on this site so that people that state they are current residents that have an issue can reach me directly. If you have a concern that you would like addressed please e-mail me. Because I've been in touch with the Health department and I know that there are no Mold issues I will not be addressing this post any longer. As always you can reach me via e-mail.
