Not worth it

Parking is awful and the area is unsafe. If you're a woman who works late, I don't recommend living here, as coming home every night will entail a long walk across a dark parking lot. My building's back door is repeatedly broken. Although maintenance does 'fix' it, it never stays fixed; I don't think they check to make sure the door is working on a daily basis, and it takes a resident's call to get someone out to repair it again (which takes a day or two). Behind my building, people (don't know if they are residents or not) park their cars and blast music at really late hours. Maintenance is okay, depending on the problem. Some stuff gets fixed right away, some stuff never gets fixed (I gave up on my dishwasher after about 4 calls), or takes a few calls. Our apartment is always clean, but there is a roach problem, especially when the weather changes. The building is good about spraying, but the bugs go from apartment to apartment and they always come back. If you have roaches, buy some caulking and completely fill in any holes in the kitchen -- tiles, counter, even around the plug outlets. There were a ton of holes in our place and the roach problem got a lot better after we used the caulk.
Basically, the complex isn't worth it for what you pay. You can pay a bit extra for a place a few blocks away (I have friends on Duke and on Yoakum that pay a bit more for MUCH better apartments, with underground parking and security doors that actually work) for a much better deal. Yeah, this place is cheaper, but it would be better to pay a bit more to get a bit more. I wish I'd known about apartmentratings before I moved in, and now I'm just looking forward to the end of my lease.

I think ALOT of people including me are looking forward to the end of their leases.
I would have moved sooner, but got caught by surprise with Bozzutto's $300-400 per month increase to go month to month.

Hello Anonymous,
I would like to address the issues you mention on your post:
Parking: I agree parking was very tight at Eos 21. In an effort to address it I am doing the following: We are renting out the tandem spaces so that all parking spaces get fully utilized. We have created motorcycle parking to reduce the number of spot occupied by motorcycles, I have sent a notice to all building requesting those people that need handicap parking to fill out the form I sent or e-mail me so I can make sure we don't have too many spaces blocked for handicap parking. All these projects are just about finished so you should see improvement very soon.
2. Doors being broken: We do inspections on all doors every day at 4PM. If we find a door that needs repair we fix it on the spot unless parts need to be ordered. If we have to place an order we have it shipped overnight.
Noise: Contact the Police; unless I know the apartment or the parking decal on the car I cannot control it.
Maintenance: If you put in a ticket that does not get fixed e-mail me at jcrick@bozzuto.com. I'll make sure it gets fixed.
Pest problem: e-mail me your apartment I'll have the pest control over there tomorrow and find out what the problem is. Roaches go where they find food. They do not go to apartments because of style choices. If they are there it's for a reason let me help you solve the problem.
Not worth it: I'm sorry you feel that way. We have many happy residents and I am working to make that many more. When considering other apartments please also take into consideration the amount of money you will pay for the utilities that are included in your rent at Eos 21. I do not profess that we have no issues to address at Eos 21. If we were issue free I would not have so many projects going on right now. However, you have direct access to me via my e-mail jcrick@bozzuto.com. If you take the time to contact me I will take the time to address your concern.
Sincerely,
Joe Crick, General Manager
