Not bad, for the price

I just renewed my lease for a second year. I first moved into Foxchase sight unseen b/c I was moving to DC on short notice. I have been fairly happy with things. Maintenance has always come within 24 hours of me calling and once had a problem with my toilet on a Friday night, to which they responded within an hour. Parking is ample, especially for guests. I was warned not to rely on the shuttle to the Metro, and decided to just commute into work. I have had to deal with a few creepy crawlers here and there, mostly in the early spring or late fall, when it's natural. The walls are a bit thin, as I can always hear my neighbors talking when I'm in my living room, but my bedroom is usually quiet. My neighbors on my floor are very diverse -- an older retired couple, an older woman who lives alone and a young professional couple. Everyone is nice for the most part, except for the gentleman on the bottom floor who leaves his cigarette butts all over outside (but that's not Foxchase's fault...). The gym is decent for the price and the pools are well maintained. My rent didn't go up too significantly, but it is a pain to pay an extra $20 a month for water/sewer. I've always found the rental staff to be very nice. It's not luxury, but for the amount of time I'm home, it's not too bad. I feel safe, have never been approached by anyone, and am generally comfortable being a female living by myself. I do wish the lighting was better in some parts though...
