Foxchase is a pretty good location to 395 and Old Town and the price is right. However, I won't be renewing my lease for a few reasons:

First and foremost, Arun, the property mgr., is awful. I've sought is attention on a few matters and he treated me like I was dirt. I see from reading other reviews that I'm not alone. He's near impossible to get in touch with and won't return phone calls. He's quick to lie too.

Second, we don't feel safe here at all! If you go to the City of Alexandria website, you can search police reports for this neighborhood. They are literally in the hundreds. They have a huge problem with cars being broken in to. The week I moved in, someone was attacked on the street in front of my apartment. Thirdly, parking is hit or miss. Some buildings have more parking than others. My building didn't have a lot and I often had to walk about a block to get to my place. Not the worst thing that s ever happened to me but its tough when you are carrying things (not to mention the crime concern).

The fourth thing is, maintenance here is so-so. If you have a simple problem, they are right on top of things and fix it quite quickly. However, if you have a big problem, be prepared to put up a fight. Not to say this is true for every maintenance person, but as my experience has show, the maintenance group only knows how to do basic repairs. If something significant happens, they have no idea where to turn and it can take weeks, literally, to get something fixed.

The fifth thing is the noise. You can hear whatever your neighbor is doing. I can tell you from my experience that one neighbor is learning to play the guitar (and has a way to go!), another loves action movies, while the last neighbor's kid hates going to bed and will put up a major stink/tantrum every night. Of course, its an apartment and you could get noise just about anywhere.

Lastly, as this sort of ties in with maintenance, many residents have problems with animals in their walls. I had one raccoon and multiple squirrels in my walls for about four weeks. They would keep my up all night as they ran through the walls and banged the vents, sending an echoing noise throughout the apartment.

Not the worst experience ever but I wouldn't recommend. I can put up with just about anything above, except the customer service I received from the administration office. They are awful and a reason in and of itself not to rent here.
