It's not that bad

I live on Imboden Street. We've never had a problem with parking or cars getting broken into. I always find a parking spot. I've noticed that this is a good street to live on becuase we don't have to parallel park and it's not a busy street like Jordan St. We've only seen a few bugs. We've seen the 3 inch roach 3 or 4 times in the year and a half we've lived here. This is the worst one because they are huge and hard to catch, but 3 or 4 times in a year in a half is not too bad. We've never had mice, rats, or racoons. I have heard scratching in the walls which I'm assuming are squirrels. There is a squirrel problem in this building and all along the grounds becuase they are breeding like crazy. They got into the fire exit and stink up the entire stairwell. We thought someone was doing drugs but it was the smell of the squirrels feces in the fire exit when it got really really hot and it smells terrible. We had to tape up our door that leads to the fire exit to get rid of the smell in the 2nd bedroom but the smell is now gone. I'd rather jump off a balcony if there is a fire. Every time we've had a maintanence issue, they come and fix it. Our microwave broke, they came out the same day. We called them 2 times about the squirrel smell and they tried to clean it up but they really didn't do anything. I saw one house centipede and every now and then see tiny spiders and that is the extent of the bugs. The pool and the exercise room are very nice. The carpet is pretty terrible and our cats can pull it up very easily. I've never ever felt unsafe walking around here. I generally don't go walking at night unless I get home when it's dark and walking back from my car. The lighting in the parking lots could be a little better. I moved from St. Louis and I feel much safer here than I ever did there. Our electric bills are a little high because these are old buildings and you have to take that into consideration. The insulation is probably terrible. Our water bills are not high though. They raised our rent $80 the second year we renewed, but they were giving us a pretty good deal to start out. I guess we've been pretty lucky but I haven't mided living here. I would recommend someone to move onto Imboden St.
