Dear Reader:

You have turned to these boards to discover whether Foxchase is a good place for your renting dollars. You wish to find unbiased opinions- the sort of opinion that is not written out of anger, spite, or general malice towards the property. I would suggest you look elsewhere.
As a young, female professional who wished to find a safe, affordable apartment I was disappointed to find I'd picked wrong. Homeless people wander up and down the street all day long. Mind you, my heart breaks for the homeless. And the front door breaks every time one of them decides they'd rather be inside the building.
I do have a decent amount of company to console me in my fears, albeit uninvited company. The numerous roaches that infest my apartment despite my militant cleanliness are not the most polite guests and insist on staying even after numerous complaints to the management. (I'm beginning to suspect the roaches and management are related.)
My toilet mysteriously flushes in the middle of the night, two of my burners didn't work when I first moved here, the air conditioning has gone out twice, my ceiling flooded and it took over a month before they repaired it- or the carpet destroyed beneath it, the ceiling fan didn't work, and, due to poor design of the front entrance of my apartment it was nearly impossible to get any of my furniture in.
Needless to say, it's been an adventure. The sort you'd rather avoid.
However, if you enjoy urban scenery, Foxchase isn't all bad. A few nights ago I witnessed a drug trade right behind an unlit area of my building. Most of my neighbors have had their cars broken into when the bums get bored breaking down the front door. If you have low self-esteem and enjoy getting catcalls from people you are sure you've seen on "America's Most Wanted", Foxchase is a great place to go.
Long story short, if you are wanted for a heinous felony, are a wannabe heinous felon, or absolutely hate society and enjoy reveling in cockroach-ridden filth, Foxchase is for you. (And please, remember to especially feed Hal and Molly at night. Otherwise they might just crawl in bed with you.) k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S

Thanks for the comments guys. And information on bedbugs. Given the standards of this place I think bedbugs and cockroaches are not mutually exclusive. They both infest your apartment, simultaneously. And in this game of parasitic survivor... I've lost.

It is very easy to confuse bed bugs with cockroaches! check under your mattress for bed bugs! Here is an excellent article about bed bug http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/27/nyregion/27bugs.html

Thanks for the reviews. People that live here know best and I wish not to have that problem. It seems that when you move in, you are stuck with problems with the next year and I was thinking about moving here. Thank you all for the information!! I hope you find a nice cozy place to call home soon.

Surprisingly I never had a bug problem and I lived there for two years. I got a dog my last three months so I moved out because I wasn't living in the 'dog area'. It's not the nicest place but I don't do bugs and filth so I wouldn't have stayed for as long as I did if I had that problem.

This review was absolutely fantastic. Having experienced many of these exact same problems during the few short months I suffered with Foxchase - including the flooding (3!) and the roaches - I truly appreciated the spirit of the review, and agree entirely with its recommendation.
