I live off of N. Jordan and have a HUGE problem with squirrels and racoons in the ceiling and walls. You hear about this after the fact. I live on the top floor and don't have other problems (mice, spiders, etc.) but this is by far worse. I hear them crawling, screeching, scratching, having babies or something, through the walls at all hours of the night. It almost seems like they could come right through the walls. I called management they said they have caught the racoons and taken them out of the area and let them loose. I'm expected to belive this, unless they are like Lassie and find their way home again, because there is something pretty huge that woke me up at 2:30 am this morning and the reason for this review. They put small cages to catch the squirrels on the small balcony, (like this is going to help). I just signed a one year lease but I am looking for another place and will break my lease as quickly as I can. Did I forget to mention, if you live on the top floor and have a foul odor coming through the walls, it is most likely coming from your friendly neighborhood rodents who have found your building to be thier dumping ground (literally). Maintenance came in and removed bags of racoon feces from the crawl spaces. Did I also forget to mention that I pay $1700/mo (does not include utilities)for this place. My next step is to call the City of Alexandria and if need be go to the paper, television. Everyone in my building is having the same problem and we are talking about doing something collectively. I will let you know how this turns out, if I am still here.

I wanted to see the raccoon photo ! This is a serious problem and could be even more dangerous if these animals have rabies !!!!
