Foxwood is probably one of the best deals you'll find in Alexandria. For a clean and spacious studio, I'm paying less than $900 (doesn't include utilies though). I have a big balcony with a pretty nice view. Never seen a single bug. I had 2 repair issues when I first moved in, but the maintenance guys were quick and responsive. Kitchenette is small, but serves my needs just fine. Parking is among the best you'll find; you'll never get screwed out of a spot and it's well lit.

One interesting aspect of Foxwood, though, is it's ethnic diversity (and this is by no means a bad thing). It's representative of Alexandria as a whole, and frankly I think it's great to mingle with a wide variety of people on a daily basis. Everyone is really nice overall. And since there are dozens of other apartment buildings in this area, I normally feel safe with plenty of people and cars around, even around 10 or 11 pm at night.

It's also a great location for anything you need. You'll find several grocery stores, health clubs, fast food places, a mall, etc all within walking distance (1/2 mile or so). If you drive to work, you're right by I-395 and also close to I-495. Or if you take public transportation like me, there are tons of buses directly in front of Foxwood that network to DC's train system (e.g. getting to the Pentagon via bus takes only 20 minutes or so).

In all, Foxwood has a few TINY flaws that probably aren't worth mentioning...but compared to the other overpriced crapholes I've seen around here, it's fair-priced and well-managed. A friend of mine who lives at Windsor at Arbors pays $400 MORE per month for an apartment that frankly isn't much better than what I have. Do yourself a favor and give Foxwood a try.

Who wrote this the management? The management here is the worse. If you complain they find a way to get rid of you. They don't turn on the heat in the fall even if it is freezing. Take this week, on 10/15 is the legal date to turn on heat but starting on 10/13 the temp. at night will be below freezing but they will not turn it on until 10/16. You pay utilities which are divided among the tenants of the bldg because the apts. are not individually metered. There are some old timers who don't pay utilites, which means you are paying it for them. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else...

All you've done is complain about everyone's reviews - seriously, get a life. My heating/cooling bill is a consistent $40 per month or so, which is pretty standard. And even if it seems pricey to you, these apartments are inexpensive compared to other buildings around Alexandria. The building looks old on the outside, but Mike is fantastic in keeping up with maintenance; and I see the cleaning crew making their rounds every single day. My only concern is that rent is going up, as is everything around DC lately.
