New Management Taking Place Down

This is my second time around at Foxwood Place. I lived here from 1999 to 2001 and then moved back here in 2007. I returned because I had good memories of the tenants and the management staff. When I moved back in 2007, the property was still managed by the same company, but the level professionalism and competentcy of staff had somewhat deteriorated since 1999. Still, the office staff were genuinely friendly and willing to help when possible.
Since the new management has taken over, all expectations of friendliness and customer serive have gone out the window. The new office staff are lazy, rude and unreliable. Below are two examples:
1. I recently called the office from work and asked "Monique" if she could check the package shelf for a package that USPS said they had delivered but was missing. Her first response to me was "why can't you come check it'" I explained to her that I was at work and would not arrive home before the rental office closed. She still refused to check for the package, claiming that she was alone in the office and did not have time to check. Mind you, I could hear her co-workers talking in the background, and the package shelf is less than six feet from her desk. After repeatedly stressing the importance of the package, she reluctantly said she would check and get back to me. Of course, she never called.
2. Shortly after the new office staff arrived, I walked into the office and placed a maintenance request. After questionning the need for the repair, the rep said she would dispatch the maintenance staff to resolve the issue the following day. Three days later, the issue had not been resolved. I returned to the office for an update. I was informed by Monique that she had no record of the maintenance request. Rather than taking accountability for the mistake as a team, she responded "well, I did not take the request, so it was not me." Nevertheless, she promised the issue would be resolved the following day. Four days later, the issue was still not resolved. I returned to the office a THIRD time to find out that no one had a record of my request. I ended up having to approach the maintenance man myself to get the job done.
Finally, the new management recently "renovated" several units that they are now charging $200-400 more than current rental rates. While I have not seen the renovated units, I have overheard tenants complaining about the extent and quality of the renovations. Further, tenants are upset over the rumor that the new management is going to start giving residents two options: move into the renovated units and pay the increase, or move!

Thank you for this informative post. You are exactly right as to what you have heard from the other tenants. With the renovations, the management is giving you four options: stay in the same unit and pay more, move into renovated unit and pay more, stay in the same unit without signing a lease term and pay even more than the first two options, and last leave.
I can understand the price increase to certain extent, as everything is going up, but come on increasing the price to 200 to 400 dollars to tenants who have been here for such a long and like the place. We are moving and we have found a good deal around this area.
As far as rudeness, we have not had any experience of bad behavior but that is because we have not had any issues that requires their attention.
