I cannot recommend Foxwood Place. Please note - since April 2008 FIVE reviews DO NOT recommend Foxwood Place - l does.

After many, many years of residence, I am following other long term tenants and leaving. Although it appears as if mgmt is reducing the exorbitant rental amounts to standing tenants from its previous levels - well over and above market value - the fact remains that the rent was raised to these exorbitant amounts in the first place ... and management is offering "renovated" apartments to new residents and on the open market at rates substantially below those demanded of standing tenants for the same sized "unrenovated" apartments.

While the head of maintenance and Joy (of the office staff) try to be as helpful as they are able, the fact remains that management is no longer local, decision makers are simply not accessible to "mere" tenants and onsite management is not empowered to act beyond their instructions.

Tenants are not treated well or equally and pay vastly different amounts for the same sized apartment.

Outside "safety" lighting has become intrusive. Haulers come at 3:00-4:00 in the MORNING to load appliances, cabinets, etc. which have been removed in "renovation" - unless they were notified by mgmt, how did they know there were items to be hauled'

Lingering toxic odors from renovations have driven tenants from their apartments to sit in the entry area ...although management claims they are using "green" products.

Parking has been made a revenue stream - "parking permits" are now issued and "a "towing company" is regulary employed in "enforcement" - visitors must park a good distance from the front entry (where they may contact the persons they are visiting) and may not find a vacant parking place. None of this was necessary in previous years.

It has been sad to see the deterioration of what had been my home;
On August 15 this was the headline in Craigs List: $1525 / 2br - Foxwood Place Two Bedroom Blowout Special (Alexandria, Va) (map) ...this is $200. a month BELOW what a standing tenant and neighbor was told she MUST PAY to remain at Foxwood ...she chose to leave even though her illness was no longer in remission and she was facing hospitalization - Foxwood mgmt's solution was to suggest she take a 1 bdrm apt ...as my neighbor put it "If I wanted a 1 bdrm, I would have rented a 1 bdrm."

I believe Foxwood Place mgmt. is having difficulty renting to new tenants.
