Renovation NIGHTMARE

I've lived here for several years and I've NEVER had a problem with anything until very recently. I've lived in both a furnished studio and an unfurnished one bedroom and of the few times I had an issue, I've never had problems getting anything resolved. However, things have changed quite a bit. We are now in the process of replacing the heating/A/C unit in all of the buildings and it has been a nightmare. Sometimes there is little to no notice that people will be entering your apartment which gives you no time to move your things and square away anything you don't want strangers to see/touch etc. I've had to move my furniture over and over again for this work to be done first to put in the unit and now to get the unit working. I wouldn't mind doing if I had more than a day to figure it out since I can't move my furniture without some help. I work during the day and the last thing I should have to do (almost weekly) is to call someone to help me move my furniture and have a living room full of moved stuff. Also, the duct from the unit runs through the wall, in to my closet and in to my bedroom. I've had to take my clothing and stuff off the shelves in my closet more times than I can count. All this shifting of stuff means I have to live with my things scattered around and I never know if it's safe to move things back because sometimes work is done on following days. I've found stains on my personal carpet and furniture. I now have broken bookshelf because instead of taking things off it to move it, they just shoved it over. The bookshelf had trouble moving because it's on carpet. Had I known that they were coming AGAIN I would have moved it myself and had to suffer with the contents of my bookcase all over my living room. I also have a pet and twice I've come home to find him shut in the bathroom which means that instead of letting him out when they were done, he was stuck in there ALL DAY. I came home early one day and found the person supervising the project parked in the hallway on a chair. She should be in my apartment watching these men work instead of reading a book in the hallway. It doesn't make me feel any better that these men couldn't get away with stealing my TV but were free to stuff their pockets full of my jewelery and anything else small enough. I understand that the management won't always know the schedule and that they tell us as soon as they know but how but providing us all with an outline of what is to be done' I don't have any idea of timeline of when people will stop going in and out of my apartment. The schedules we get say they will be in once or twice a month but I know they've been here more than that because they fall behind schedule. I can tell they been here because my things are moved AGAIN. One time I got no notice that they were coming and I got a snippy note on my door about moving my things out of the way. Since my stuff wasn't moved, they didn't do any work. My stuff not being moved never stopped them before! I'm especially frustrated with my closet because I keep all of my clothes in there since I don't have room for a dresser and I keep my intimate clothing there as well and I've found my undergarments just laying in a heap on my bed. My only guess is they fell out of the containter I keep them in and had to be moved. Either way, it's really disturbing to think that strange men touched my undergarments. Oh and I've come home to find unflushed surprises in my toilet and a broken toilet seat. The seat has yet to be fixed. I really wish I knew how much longer I have to live with the mess, the noise and the intrusions to my apartment. At least then I can say it will end soon. Oh and while they do all this work I've been without A/C for weeks at at a time in the middle of summer and I've been without heat for days at a time in the last few weeks. That is unacceptable. I really want to like living here because I've lived here for years without problem but I can't say that I enjoy it here anymore because of this ongoing and seemingly endless renovation. I just want my peace and privacy back! For those of you looking to rent, I suggest you wait until all this work is done before getting stuck here with tons of stuff going on.
