When I leave, I will have lived here for a year and a half and am only leaving because I'm moving out of state. I think this building is great for people with needs like mine. It may not be a good fit for people that are looking for more luxury or convenience to Metro, but I don't think this reflects poorly on the complex or the management.
NEIGHBORHOOD: As a single woman from a privileged background, I was nervous about the neighborhood moving in, but I've felt very safe here. I frequently come home late at night and I've never had a problem. The Del Ray neighborhood also has a lot to offer in terms of a community vibe, shops, restaurants, etc. You have to drive or bus to Metro. The Potomac Yard shopping center is super convenient. If I had the means to buy, this area would be my first choice.
AMENITIES: There are no wine and cheese parties, pool, gym, dry cleaning, etc. What they do offer are two amenities that were great for me: two working, Internet-accessible computers w/ printers, and pet-sitting services.
PESTS: I NEVER saw any, and the management seems to be good about preventive treatment.
MAINTENANCE: I was always notified in advance in writing of any routine maintenance. The few requests I made were handled promptly and correctly.
PARKING: One space per unit, spaces are hard to find late at night. But I've always been able to park across the street, and I've never had a problem with my car. The lots are well lit.
MANAGEMENT: Friendly and helpful. They seemed to know who I was right away, which was nice. Never had any problems with them.
PETS: They allow cats and maybe birds too. I don't think there is a pet deposit, and the pet rent is darn reasonable (maybe $25') compared with other places I've lived.
BUILDINGS: Extremely well-kept. One laundry room for each building, always immaculate and with machines in good repair.
UNITS: Hey, they're old and they're not that pretty. But the layouts are efficient, they are in good repair, and I was very happy with my unit. Mine was renovated before I moved in. You hear your neighbors, but I don't think the walls are especially thin.
CONCLUSION: Having lived in much fancier places that charge all sorts of fees for amenities I didn't use, as well a basement unit rented by a shady landlord, I was really in a position to appreciate what this place offers: a good deal (reasonable rent, utilities included) in a very competently managed complex. I would absolutely recommend this place. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

These are correct observations.
Granted, it's a mixed neighborhood, but super-expensive if you want to buy instead of rent. Nearby old ghetto townhomes go for $500k, and nearby new condos go for 800k, or more. Just look at www.zillow.com.
Walls are thin, but residents mostly seem to be quiet working class people who appreciate a quiet night's sleep.
Parking is a pain. The spaces are filled by early evening by Escalades and BMWs. If you arrive after 6:30 p.m., or drive anywhere in the evening and upon return are compelled to park in the street and forget to move your car to an empty space in the morning, you're sure to get an expensive parking ticket. I wish they would more often tow cars without the community decal, or limit the decals. Even so, an occassional parking ticket is cheaper than living with parking anywhere else close in.
