a resident since 2007 and I, too, became concerned about some things; complaints and requests made; surveys filled out - and I think once a full-time manager is in place, oversight and management will happen. Meanwhile, the leasing staff is working very hard to field all requests and comply with residents requests and I think they are doing a good job considering all that they are dealing with. We need to give the new manager time to review the property and requests from residents; let's not give up on Halstead...it is a good place - check around; same issues and concerns everywhere.....

No, I am not "management" - I moved in in May and am just as "new" as anyone else; have not seen any of the negatives you have listed....sorry you are not having a pleasant experience......

????? Why would one think that if a remark or commenit is good that it must mean "management" posted it? You know, there are people who live at Halstead Tower and they are happy here, and I am one of them. I signed a lease, I pay rent, high just like yours is, and I have no complaints.

As I said in my own review, give this place a chance. There are logistical issues that cannot be dealt with over night. It seems to me that the company and management are striving to provide what they sell. As this place grows, issues come up. Instead of blogging about it, go to the office and personally speak to management. That is what I did and I made them aware of the negative reviews on this site. They responded to me within 24 hours with updates and explanations. They were surprised that more people weren't talking to them directly. All it takes is a little communication. Just my $.02

To Ireturned: What good things are happening? I have yet to see any real improvement. In my humble opinion things have really gone down hill over the past two to three months. As for the comment from Renterg35 about the people in the office being suprised that tenants won't go directly to them regarding complaints...well, they are surpised becasue they don't pay attention to you when go into the office so why say anything to them if you are going to be ignored? My experience has been to post my compliants on this site and then I see action. I assume that each person in the office is a nice person on an individual level, but as far as having the ability or the willingness to be effecive in manageing this building and taking care of the tenants, no.... the people who work here severly lack the abiliy to manage this building. The vibe that I get is that they don't care anymore because they don't have the skills needed to be effective; in essence it seems as if they have just given up on trying. I am also leaving at the end of my lease. Many events and circumstances went into my decision, the main one being the price of my apartment here vs the price of the condo that I will be renting; a $500.00 difference. With gas over $4 per gallon I'm going to need to additional $500.00. Other reasons include the condition of the building...dirty trash rooms, dog messes all over the place even the sidewalk, stains on the carpet, dust all over the the place upstairs on the 15th floor, and the attitides/service I receive from the people who work here. Bottom line for me is....there simply is no value afforded to me by Halstead Tower for me to renew my lease. For those who opt to stay best of luck to you, and it's good that you have found the "value" that is offered, but for many of us, value is nowhere to be found.
