I have yet to experience the superior service that will enhance the living experience that Halstead promises in its mission statement. In short, I moved to Halstead Tower with certain expectations that were plainly not met. Certain things are acceptable to a point (water problems, electricity going out, etc.) while others are not (i.e. numerous disrespectful comments from local property manager). We had to spend New Year's day with no hot water and then in the evening the transformer blew so we spent hours in the dark and cold. What upset me most was that no one from management notified us of any progress or solutions being made. I would call the concierge to find out how long it would be, only to be greeted by an irritated woman. I understand that she was probably being harrased with a lot of questions that she didn't knwo the answer to, but it shouldn't have been her job to deal withthe tenants in that situation. A local manager should have come to the property immediately! Also, the hot water has gone out many times in my year here and no compensation was given to the residents. Once we spent an entire weekend without hot water! I was told by the manager that "by law, they are not required to provide us with hot water". Isn't that nice to know while you are living in a "luxury" apartment. They care more about giving social events and having ridiculous amenities (golf simulator) rather than providing basic necessisties, like hot water. The management is also very disrespectful, and condescending to certain tenants, which is completely unacceptable.

I live here and I know who this person is because she has made the same comments to me, and to be honest the person who posted this is well known to most of the front desk people and to several residents,(who she thinks agrees with her, but don't.) She is a very nasty human being who takes pleasure in yelling and belittling those around her. On one occassion I witnessed her yell and belittle the guy at the front desk because he was not quick enough in retrieving a package for her; she even had the nerve to snap her fingers at him and tell him to hurry his ass up, and cursed at him. Her behavior was appalling, and I felt so much sympathy for the guy at the front desk. Honestly I don't know how he was able to keep his composure. The woman who posted this comment is an absloute nightmare and should consider her own behavior and work on being a bit more pleasent to those around her rather then lash out at people who really can't challenge her when she is a complete bi$%h to them.
No one deserves to be treated the way I have seen her treat people. Really, the behavior I witnessed from her was appalling, and to be honest it has made me a bit afraid of her...she seems like the kind of person who would do bodily harm to you if you cross her. She seems to be a bit unstable to say the least.

Don't avoid Halstead. I have had no problems that would make me want to post anything neg. about this place or anyone who works here. All in all Halstead Tower, in my opinion, is a good place to live and I have never had an issue with the front desk or anyone who works here and personally I enjoy the resident functions and the golf simulator.

I don't know why someone would dredge up long-gone, resolved problems. Halstead is top notch; I've lived here since May 2007 and cannot understand how some people can be so critical. Problems arise in all communities, good, bad, or mediocore. Halstead strives to manage and provide the best possible living conditions for its residents. Those who are so critical need to live alone.....Halstead is great!

I completely agree with the first posting - avoid this place! I was so excited to move in and have been so completely positive about this place! I am not critical, negative or at all the first to write about a single problem...but things have gotten much worse since I moved in almost a year ago! No one seems to care anyone or want to be friendly. The vibe of the staff has changed and the mood of the overall building is different! As far as luxury living, I hear everything above and around me...the vents carry in so much noise! Plus, who builds a building without vents in the bathrooms??!! It's that against code? If this place was originally going to be a luxury condo...now I understand why people wouldn't buy them and they turned them into apartments!

I think the first responder must have my identity wrong. I have a wonderful rapport with the front desk concierge. I don't even know how to snap my fingers and I never yell. In fact, I am the type of person who keeps my grievances bottled up inside and I never complain. It took a lot for me to write this review, and did so sincerely. I wanted potential teneants to know how bad this place is for the money you are spending. I am hoping that when they find a replacement for Lynn, the service will get better, but there are a lot of facts that can not be avoided. Like the previous response said, the design of the building is inherently flawed.

I completely know who you are. You are Theresa, and you are a very mean and nasty person. I have seen you in action and the front desk bad mouths you all the time; in fact we often talk about you and how completely low class, rude, and what an ugly person you are.
