30 year old apt complex could be very nice but not for singles/couples without children

The management company leaves something to be desired. They keep very well groomed grounds with mature trees and green spaces which is what attracted me to the community. However, the rental office is at best unorganized, at worst downright negligent. They often 'forget' things which cost the residents money and time. Office hours are ridiculous -- not opening until 10 in the morning on all but one day a week. My feeling was that it was a corporate machine and not a place where people would (or could) build a community. Move in, move out, they could care less.
No input from the residents is solicited or encouraged. In my time there, they not only raised the rent by a total of $140 in two yrs but they started charging for utilities and took away amenities such as storage.
The gym (what there is of it) and the pool is not open early or late nite and so is not available to most working people. During the hours it is open, the pool is filled with children and not conducive to exercising. If you want to work out, you won't be able to do it at the apt's facilities so it's not really a amenity to me.
All in all, Hillwood is a place for families with young children -- not for singles or young couples. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
