excellent experience

I have lived at Hillwood for about 12 years and found it an excellent experience. The grounds are beautiful and well kept up. The new free shuttle to the Pentagon City Metro is very convenient and a significant savings. It also gets to the Metro slightly quicker than the regular express bus. Repairs are sometimes a bit slow but do get done, especially if you keep asking. The mini-shopping center with Giant, CVS, etc., is a major convenience. It is true the walls could be thicker but I don't find them intolerable. Double-paned windows have been installed which reduce the exterior noise as well as the fuel bill. I do not know what the rent would be for my 2-bedroom apartment if I were moving in, but I was talking to someone who lives in a far more proletarian 1-bedroom apartment in Springfield-Rose Hill, and she is paying $1000 a month, whereas I pay $1193. I think the children are high-spirited but not noisy or bad, and anyway people who object to children are objecting to there being a future. Actually, the fact that a large proportion belong to recent immigrants probably explains why they are better behaved and quieter than the average. Obviously it's not the place for night life, but if you have a family or are a quiet single person it's great.
