My husband and I rented a 1BR den for slightly over 2 years, and moved out in Aug 2003 due to relocation. It was the best rental experience we had in NoVa. We were previously at Millbrook and in Courthouse area. With each rental disappointment/ nightmare we lowered our expectations...so it was wasy for us to be pleasantly surprised by Huntington Gateway.
Pros:
-Garage parking
-Silent. We never heard our neighbours. I have read that others had problems, so I guess we got lucky. Our neighbour to one side travelled and was almost never in town, and I only rarely heard signs of life in other apts.
-Washer/dryer in apt
-Floor to ceiling windows with view of trees (could forget we were on Rt 1)
-Free shuttle to metro
-Joe, the shuttle driver
-Friendly maintenance staff
Cons:
-Floor to ceiling windows mean heat loss!
-Management not very responsive...but this
has been true everywhere weve rented
-Poor communication about shuttle delays or
problems
-Kitchen design/storage--cramped, no drawer big enough for silverware''
-Location on the Rt 1 corridor is
convenient for Beltway, but also for crime
-I had forgotten about the ladybug infestation until I read other posts! It was a problem for us in 2001
-Price and rent hikes
