I live on the 7th floor in building two and have complained about the cat urine smell in the hallway and about the tenant that lets her cat roam in the hallway. The smell of cat urine eminates in front of her apartment door. Management has done nothing about it. They continue to let her bring the cat into the management office and it roams around in there. I have guests over and they complain of the smell also. They wonder what disgusting person lives in the apartment that way. They tell me to call the Health Department, I guess thats what I well do since management will not take care of the problem.

I would also recommend calling the health department. Management has to respond to that action/investigation. There isn't a whole lot that can be done about her having a cat but it is a county violation to allow the cat to roam loose. It's also a violation to not make them clean the hallways. Sometimes it takes the sweeky wheel to get them to listen. Good luck and just keep trying, eventualy they will listen ( they will have to ).

First of all- the smell of cat urine is NOT a health or safety violation- The person who lived in the apartment with the cat urine smell is not a disgusting person, but is a person who had a sick diabetic animal. The person had been trying to take care of the problem and had even bought a steam cleaner to help out with the problem. The urine problem being referred to was fixed more immedicately once the individual was notified that it was a problem for others. Perhaps if the neighbors who initially wrote this would have talk to the neighbor with the cat instead of being totally obnoxios, and only complaining to management, then the probem could have been resolved much earlier. It is really amazing what could be accomplished when people try to communicate.

Oh- and one more thing- for all you cat haters- the cat is never loose- he is alway with me when he goes for walks- he is NEVER alone.
