It's not worth it.

I wished I had better researched this apartment building before I moved into the property. But instead I chose to believe the fast talking apartment rep. That convently forgot to mention, so many hidden fees my roommate and myself are currently drowning in.

The apartment is very costly for absolutely no reason which leads me to belive I'm paying mostly for a view of 395. Yes it is a spacey apartment BUT there are no linen closets for the bathrooms in both the hallway and the bathroom
. The bathrooms are old and VERY small theres barely room to turn around and this is including the masterbath, even cleaned it still looks dirty.

The kitchen is also very old, the cabinets are dingy as are the counter tops. Thank god there is a dishwasher, but of corse all the apliances are old as well. Rent is 1500 most of the time, because of the no grace period rule and the fact that for each person on the lease you will owe 184 extra when you are late for rent. Not to mention are roach friends that seem to keep coming even after the 2week wait to be put on the list just to be exterminated. There is no washer and dryer in the apartments, instead they are located in a small room, one washer and one dryer per floor. Be aware that redidents tend to take your things out of the washer or dryer and place them ontop of the machine. There are 2 elevators, both very slow that cover all 15 floors.

I've also asked other residents about there key towers experiecnce and just as I am they are counting down the days until the lease is up!

I agree, I currently live there and I can not wait until the lease is up. So I can move out of that ROACH MOTEL...How much everyone in this building pays for rent, the apartments should like brand new.. New kitchen counters, appliances, and new floor tiles... The bath room alone is like tuna can, no room. They new bathroom sink and better tiles.. This apartment is highway robbery!!! So whoever is out there looking for an apartment, please bypass this one....

I too am dreading my Key Towers experience. I agree with previously posted responses regarding the slow elevators, space limitation, old appliances, roaches, additional costs ( sewer, water, service fee, trash) which change monthly but average to an additional $30 a month. I would like to add the extra expense caused by the outdated and inefficient heating/cooling units which make my fee higher than some townhomes. Also, there is only one service tech for the building. He is prompt and he does his best but the solutions are usually cheap. For example, a neighbor mentioned that when she complained that the wind blew through her windows the solution was not caulking but plastic sheets stapled over the entire window frame. The plastic blocked her view and she didn't get fresh air until spring. For more than rudimentary solutions you have to wait days for an, often messy, contractor to wander through your place unsupervised and fix the problem. Finally the building is currently under construction to add new windows and remove asbestos. Messy and there is no rent reduction for the inconvenience. Best Bet...Skip this place. It is not work the convenient location.

As much as I hate this place, is the fact that you apparently can't pay your rent on time their fault? Unless they've removed it for some reason, there used to be a drop-slot for rent checks directly into the office by the mailboxes, use it and save yourself the $368 per month.
