This was the most horrible place I've ever lived in my life. And being stuck in a one year lease was just absolute torture. Trust me, before I moved there I actually looked at this website and the comments people had written and I thought "it can't be that bad." But it was that bad, and more.First of all, management are a bunch of liars. I was never told that we had to pay for water and trash, actually I was told that it was free. Nope. That's an extra 70 bucks on your rent. The first day we moved into our place, it wasn't even done. The sink was literally hanging off the counter, and the ceiling looked like it was about to fall off. No wonder every time I asked if I could go see the place they kept telling me it wasn't ready. Then, when the cable guy came to install our cable, he couldn't do it because in the room downstairs where he needed to turn it on, there was human feces and urine from the people who broke in down there. So the health department was called, as well as the police. But could we get out of our lease' No. Instead, we were moved to a smaller, but somewhat nicer apartment. While living there, we witnessed a car speed through the parking lot hitting 4 cars on the way out. And apparently that wasn't the first time it happened. Watch out for drivers there, most don't have insurance because they are in this country illegaly, and will run after an accident. This place is border patrol's dream. People hang out of their windows, yelling obsenities at any female they see, someone sits in their car and honks the horn for 10 minutes at 4 in the morning when he comes to pick up his dayworkers, roaches are the size of mice, and the cops are ALWAYS outside. Oh, and make sure you give 2 months notice, not a day late, because they will charge you an extra $1200 in rent if you don't. Also, don't expect to get any help out of management. I even called the corporate office to complain, and the woman who answered was unbelieveably rude. So don't expect good customer service from Equity Residential's corporate office either. They just don't care. So, all in all, if you value your safety, health, and car, don't move there. Anyone who has anything nice to say about this place either works there or doesn't have a visa.

"someone sits in their car and honks the horn for 10 minutes at 4 in the morning" i dont live nearby but i can hear that on the other side of the complex sometimes and wonder WTF?? somebody needs to take action against that driver. get his discription, vehicle and tag and report that to the police. what i've noticed is the people that live there illegally and the outsiders associated with those ppl make this place what it is rather than the ppl that live here legally. ofcourse outsiders just don't care for the facility inside/out mgmt needs to do something to filter out these ppl and their activities and condition will improve at KP, externally and internally. something simple as an electronic gate will eliminate all of this crap. it might cost them $ for the investment, but it will save the complex $$$ in the long run. |
