I have lived at Lafayette for about a year. It is newly renovated and I think they recently opened about a year and a half ago.
The apartments themselves are very nice. A one bedroom is almost 800 sqft. Its also moderately priced. You can find a one bedroom for around $800. The inside is great, huge walk in closets, dishwasher, new appliances and such. The staff is pretty good too. No complaints on roaches or rodents and they will exterminate upon request.
The only problem as with other apartment complexes is that residents let their kids hang out in the street until all hours of the night. I wish they would just learn to take care of their kids. Despite the background checks they suppossedly conduct on the residents some of them are sketchy to say the least. Try to get an apartment closer to the rental office.
Overall I would highly recommend checking out these apartments; their much better than the ones up the street (meadow woods)
