I lived at Lafayette, when I first moved in, Sept 04 it was a lovely complex that was just opening up. By the time I moved out a year later it was the most ghetto complex ever. Half of the residents don't speak English and the other half speak Ebonics. The office staff will ignore your questions, never get back to you, and insult your intelligence. The property manager says he has a B.A. in Communications and thats why he's there to help with the communication problems, but that idiot is just there to talk around the problem and try to intimidate residents. Parents don't control their children and being outside at night around there became scary. They charge you $150 for a cleaning fee/decorating fee when you move in, and then when you move out they won't tell you what you need to do, don't want to do a walk through with you, and then charge you for not cleaning the carpet when its not even dirty! If i were you I would ask the office staff to address these questions before moving in. Also there are usually like 6 and 7 people living in a one bedroom apartment so of course it is ultra loud all the time. They suppossedly do a criminal background check before residents move in but it looks to me like they only let former inmates move over there. For what you pay you might as well go live at the complex beside it "meadow woods" and pay less and dodge gang members.
