Yes, the parking spaces are small, but if you use the upper parking deck and hunt around, no huge problem for me (and I drive a large vehicle.) I kind of like the different cooking smells when I come home, and the fact that no one group is a majority--puts us all on an even footing with a wide variety of people from all over the world. I know of ZERO crime in my 2.5 years there. Yes, the door buzzer/phone needs to be moved; people hang out in the "airlock" just holding the access phone (or just hanging out) until they can follow someone in. If that phone were moved away from the main entrance they'd be forced to actually use the phone to have a resident buzz them in.
But each resident has some responsibility in security; I go on around to the side entrance if someone is lurking there, or lead them into the main office myself, or show them how to buzz the apartment they are trying to visit.
I suspect not crime, but that people who not on the lease are using this method to "double up" residency with friends/relatives--they don't get their own card/keys so they have to tag along to get into the building each time--but they live there. Yep, Connie was hard up to retire; my dealings with Stacey have all been very good- maybe you should go outside and have a smoke with her, and actually get to know her before you gripe. It's a fine location, they've replaced the elevators and cleaned things up a lot and fixed most of the chipping concrete problem on the side of the building. I've had no bugs in my apartment, and the cleaning crew does keep the building clean, and work hard to do so.
I'm happy and plan to stay two more years. The financial deal is also good considering utilities are included and the square footage you get. Maintenance has been very responsive to me. If you are prejudiced against immigrants and/or smokers, yes, stay away--I don't want to be around you. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
