25 Plus Years and Staying

While it's true that the building is old, I think management does a good job in upgrading the common areas. As far as upgrading the apartments, all you really have to do is ask nicely with a legitimate request and they will comply. I've asked and received a new refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchen cabinets painted, new kitchen flooring, and a new screen door for my balcony. When I've needed maintenance (which is rare), they've come right away. I have no problems with bugs of any kind. All I do is put out those little roach houses every 3 months without fail and that seems to take care of it. The rent is very reasonable and the location is the absolute best in the area. The first 3 floors are offices including a dry cleaners and sandwich shop. People tend to stay a long time which is comforting.
Absolutely no problem with parking, although the lot needs paving and striping. My apartment has more closet space than most 3-bedroom townhouses (I'm not exaggerating).
There aren't any "extras" that most of the newer highrises have - saunas, gyms, etc., even the pool has been closed for several years now due to stringent and costly safety requirements, but I certainly haven't come across another highrise that even comes close in terms of value received versus the rent you pay.
