Nice community atmosphere at a good price

I moved to Lloyd apartments in June of 2004. I have spent the past 8 months enjoying carefree living. Before I get into specifics, let me just say that I absolutely recommend this apartment complex, regardless of the minor deficencies (if you can even call them that).
Positives:
* Affordable
* Extremely accessible to Arlington/Alexandria/DC area by car
* Staff is very friendly - the people who manage it have been doing it for several years and grew up on the property
* During business hours, maintenance has responded the same day to my two problems (finicky mailbox key, and a part for my shower) -- I've never had to use the after-hours maintenance phone number
* Wood floors
* Brick building so very quiet
Negatives
* Window A/C unit, heat is building-controlled - while this may bother some people, I have not found either cooling or heating to be a problem
* No washer/dryer in the units - have to go to a laundry room which are not far but still require quarters
* No dishwasher
* Office is only open 9-5 M-F and 9-12 Sat - can be hard to get packages if you work 8-6:30 like me
To me, the things listed above are merely missing amenities that are made up for by friendly service and a nice community. I'd recommend Lloyd to anyone!
