Could be better

I have lived at Llyods for 7 months and in that time we have had a few problems. The parking is a major issue. What I can guess it that most people ride the buses and metro and never need to move their cars. Cars stay parked in spaces for weeks. I rarely can get a space in front of my building and I end up parking on the street or in other lots(taking spaces from those tennets). They have a towing policy but I have never seen any car without a parking sticker get towed. Noise is terrible. We constantly hear other tennets going in and out of the building. We can hear the people above walking around since it is all hardwood floors. The building carries the noise. The mail is terrible. Packages are left on the door step sometimes and in the office others. Other times you have to run to the post office. They are supposed to knock on the door and try to deliver it. I am a housewife and always home and I have never heard them knock. The mail slots are small and narrow. They fit a few letter standing straight up. If you get magazines they are all torn by the time you wrestle them out of the box. The office staff is very helpful but never maintain hours. They are there 9-5 weekdays and Saturday 9-12 but I can never catch people in the office. There is no counter space, or pantry room in the kitchen. The bathroom is old, small and falling apart. The heat is from radiators and cannot be controlled individually. We have spent all winter with the window open. The laundry rooms are horrible. they are in the basement and there is 2 washers and 2 dryers that cost 1.75 a load. They are small appliances as well. I go to the laundromat down the street and spend less and do more laundry.

The good. There are all hardwood floors. Except you have to cover 80% in the first month you live here. Close to DC and the Metro. Grocery shopping, Target, Best Buy and some fast food are all close by. Regan National Airport is close as well. The maintenance staff is friendly and are quick to respond. We haven't had a bug problem but are careful to keep things clean.
