The staff will rip you off on move out day. They charged me $50 because I did not return the parking decal the same day I returned the keys. I went back the next day to turn it in to the business manager and she said too bad but I couldn't turn it in because the paperwork had been done. Since the "paperwork" is a few key presses in the computer, it was pretty clear this was a scam.
My two years at this apartment were like living in the ghetto. 8 people families moved into what were 2 bedroom apartments and let their children run wild down the halls. Not only did they break every exit sign playing ball in the halls, but they would spend hours banging on their parents doors to be let back in. The parents were probably out, drunk or high.
The halls were almost always pretty dark because light bulbs were replaced with a laissez-faire attitude that would make Adam Smith proud. The air conditioning unit is located right in your utility closet and IT WILL LEAK EVERY SUMMER and ruin anything in your closet. Even better, the leaking will create a brown patch that will spread across your roof like a cancer. Their solution' Come paint the roof every couple of days.
You belongings will probably be safe from fire since the fire department is RIGHT NEXT DOOR but YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO SLEEP because the fire trucks rush out every hour with alarms blaring.
Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. The Alexandria region is dotted with hundreds of apartments -- don't be greedy and settle here because it seems "alright" at first and the rents cheap -- YOU WILL REGRET IT.
