First, the good stuff: All of the staff (minus maintenance - read below) are extremely friendly and honest.
Pretty spacious apartment, especially for the price. Really nice view, too. This may vary depending on which building you live in.
I have read allot of comments about this place having infestations but I have yet to see a single fly. Perhaps this was a problem before and they finally took care of it.
All utilities paid for. One less thing to worry about. The A/C and water temperature are fine; don't believe any of the crap that other people on this board have said. There is no hot water restriction conspiracy.
They have a really nice gym here. Allot of different machines; better than any apartment complex I've seen so far.
Good location; McDonald's, 7/11 and two restaraunts are within a block. Also if youre going to be taking mass transit, there are 2 or 3 buses that stop right across the street.
...and the bad stuff... - You know that fountain they love to show you so many pictures of and talk about' Turns out it's got no filter system and it is DISGUSTING. The water is a nasty shade of dark green with fuzzy stuff inside. If you have kids, good luck keeping them away because it's right next to the park/pool area.
- Maintenance is pretty inconsiderate. Any little request has taken me about 3 calls just to get a return call. Also, if you bring any women into the apartment building they will drop their mop buckets and gawk.
- Allot of shoddy crafstmanship around in my apartment. The bathroom has paint blobs everywhere, which could have been prevented if they had taken 30 seconds to put tape up before painting. Also, everything in there is crooked; some of the kitchen cabinets, the toilet paper rack, even the toilet is clearly not flush with the wall. Who does that'' I'm not too picky, but I think for >$1100/month, I should have a non-crooked toilet.
- Yes, the spaces in the parking lot are small, but so is every other parking lot in Alexandria; dont let anyone tell you otherwise.
One last IMPORTANT note: DON'T take an apartment facing Duke Street. They will try to offer you a "special discount rate." This is because there is a fire station over there and the fire trucks come raging out of the station daily. It will probably drive you insane. From our spot in the highrise building, you can barely hear them.
All in all, I'm happy with the place, despite the crooked toilet and everything....

Helo people, this is from somebody who have lived in this place for 5 good years. Now, the Good Stuff, London Park apartments, has one of the biggest spacious rooms you will ever find in the alexandria/fairfax area. For the lenth of time i have been there, i have not for once seen a roach in my apartment, i am still waiting for the day i will see one. Maintainace eventhough not very quick in solving problems, do thier best to take care of emergencies. Every apartment you will go to, will surly have same problems, i.. mean this people are not robots, placing a complaint does not mean it will be solved the next minute. These things usually take some time. So please if you are thinking of renting in London Park, you will be getting your money's worth, and i will encourage you to do so.

I disagree with the above comments. Maintainance is not as quick as people say. It is not always there fault but the front office. When you tell them of a problem they have to enter the information which I have always been assured of but yet have not seen results. I have been waiting over two years for something to be fixed. As for roaches they are there and the bi-annual stuff they do is not any help. Parking is not the same everywhere in Alexandria, go across the street. The gym is ok but it is only open 500am to 1000pm. This is not good for those of us who leave at 530 and don't get home until 900 at night. And the great clubroom they talk about, the one never used because of insurance issues (so they say) And how can you say you are getting your money's worth when other apartments offer the same things but a little more for less money.
