I've live here for over 3 years. I am not a fool, I've been around, I KNOW...that parking in the ENTIRE DC metro area is problem, unless of course, you would like to pay extra for it. I've read these reviews and am in awe of some people's ignorance. This is the city and it IS NOT...a SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING. It is an apartment in the city. I don't understand these complaints. I've live in 2 other apt communites previous to this one and I finally did EXTENSIVE SHOPPING before I rented here. This place is way better than the others. And if you are on of these people complaining of roaches, you do realize that if you DO NOT FEED THEM....you will not have them, right' Don't blame it on your neighbours. You're in an apt not your own house. Like I said, I dont understand where some of these bad reviews are coming from, unless it's simply newness to the city. Personally, I think this is a great place to live.

I used to live at LPT. About the roaches: no matter how pristine you keep your apartment, if your neighbor is living in a pile of pizza boxes and roach food, you're going to get roaches yourself. I noticed the roach infestation getting better before i left in mid 2005 but they're still there in all the buildings. Fortunately none hitched a ride with me to my new apartment. The biggest roach problem is the people (kids, I'm guessing) who take their open trash bags to the garbage room and then just leave them there, right next to the trash chute, like opening the trash chute is too complicated for them to handle. I used to carry a can of raid with me every time I took out the trash because there would invariably be bags of trash on the floor with roaches feasting. After I cleaned up after my neighbors I'd spray everything down with raid. It seemed to help a little bit. The real problem is the other tenants that just don't care. Otherwise, it was a nice enough place. Noisy, because of the fire department right next door, but I got used to that pretty fast. The units are huge, which is nice. But there's no freight elevator in the mid-rises! Are they still lying about that?
