A decent starter apartment.

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
My fiance and I lived there for one year and decided to move in because the rent was reasonable and the apartment was newly renovated (we were the first to occupy post-renovations).
The good: the apartments themselves are very nice, all utilities except for electric are covered, the gas stoves are great, and the gas heat is great too. We really enjoyed the balcony and kitchen with a bar. There is ample storage space and the carpet was brand new (although it was definitely "budget" carpet, as it tore up in the corners).
The bad (definitely outweighs the good): the apartments are as thin as paper. Perhaps I had overly loud neighbors, but I could hear nearly everything they did. Crappy surround-sound systems run rampant in this community and be prepared for some late nights/early mornings listening to the bass rumblings of a loud CD or action movie DVD. It personally drove me BONKERS. Also, the doors are very heavy so if you have neighbors who have a lot of visitors, you can hear the door slam even while in the back bedrooms. The management does not care about noise complaints. It doesn't matter how many complaints you write; they will not do anything past "calling" the problem tenants, even though they tell you they'll threaten eviction.
Maintenance was done basically when requested and on time, and we didn't have any major troubles. However, one afternoon the hallway, front doors and stairs were painted and no signs were put up. I ended up ruining a shirt, my purse and got paint all over my hands. When I called the management to get their incompetent painters to put up signs, they promised they would -- but did nothing. I called all afternoon and no one showed up. I ended up writing signs myself. Another afternoon the balconies were painted. I got home and found all of my balcony furniture and plants were shoved up against my sliding glass door. Some balcony lights were broken, plants were toppled over and some paint had gotten on my porch furniture. A call to the management got me nowhere.
A car was broken into on one of the adjacent streets and sat there for nearly 2 weeks, which I thought sent the wrong message to any potential vandals or criminals. I called management every day to inquire about the status of getting rid of it. I eventually had to visit the office and complain in front of some potential renters to get any action. The vehicle was towed the next day.
The laundry rooms are small and disgusting -- eleven apartments must subsist on three small coin washers and two dryers. Many apartments have 4 or more people living in them, so you do the math. Have fun doing laundry during the evening or on weekends. Often, our keys to the laundry rooms did not work because the locks were old and worn.
Getting a moderately long hot shower on the weekend mornings is out of the question, too.
At least in my building, the garbage compactor was always full and/or spilling over. Sometimes tenants, instead of walking to the dumpster in the parking lot, would just leave their garbage bags next to trees or next to the dumpster. Homeless people and feral cats many times ripped open bags. Many tenants also threw away big furniture, such as couches, even though that is strictly against the rules. They would sit for weeks.
In closing, and I know that I've given the place a tough review, we really liked the apartment. Just not anything else about it. If you can put up with sub-par neighbors and management, the rent is a good deal for being so close to everything.
