My wife and I lived at Manor House for 3 years and we had no complaints. The neighborhood was great with some awesome restaurants and shops within walking distance. Make sure you go down Mount Vernon to: the Evening Star, Fireflies, Mancinis, Taqueria Poblano, Los Tios, Cheestique, St. Elmos, and the Del Ray Dreamery. Living in this area is like living in a small town within a big city.

We have a small boston terrier who lived there too and she loved it. There were several other nice dogs in the building and we could walk to a great dog park by the YMCA. The building has a good-sized "pet area" by the parking lot too. The Braddock Rd. Metro station is also a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride. The GW Parkway is a 2 min. drive away too and is good for bike riding.

Our apartment was a nice size with a good-sized bedroom and living room, a decent-sized dining area that we actually used as an office, a smallish bathroom, and a small kitchen. The living room had enough space for us to portion out a little dining area. They also let us paint, so we had a red accent wall and our office was a sage green. Off the living room was a large storage closet containing a furnace. Oh, and there's central air! The courtyard between the two buildings is also great for grilling and meeting up with the neighbors.

I know a previous poster did not get their deposit back, but we got our full deposit plus interest and so did our neighbors across the hall. Also the deposit is pretty minimal compared to most places.
