Enjoyed our year at the Manor House

My wife, dog and I were sad to leave Del Ray and our Manor House apartment. While the rents are slightly higher than other apartments of a similar size, the building is well maintained and of higher quality than other offerings - basically, you get what you pay for (in our case, $1345 $60 pet fee/mo). The maintenance service is speedy and the grounds are well kept. If you appreciate a neat, clean building then this is a place for you - management is very detail-oriented (e.g. we appreciated the sign-up book for laundry, the designated pet area). We found the other tenants to be great too, and made some friends (for ourselves and our dog) that we still stay in touch with.
The location of the Manor House is great for several reasons: down the block from Mt. Vernon Ave and great Del Ray restaurants/shops, 1 mile to Braddock or King St metro stations, 2 miles to Old Town Alexandria. For dog owners, it's a ten minute walk to a great fenced in dog park and you'd feel safe walking your pooch any time of the day or night.
