We've lived at Mason Hall for 7 years (3 1/2 of those with children). We've occupied 2 apartments during that time. Considering all factors, it's a great place to live. We feel very safe in this neighborhood. My kids love it - Old Town is like their own back yard every day since it's within walking distance. And even on rainy days they play in the hallways and lobby and the tenants have all been very friendly about it - even playing with them! The biking/running path is right across the street. Playgrounds for the kids are everywhere within walking distance. Donna, the Property Manager, has been awesome. She always does extra personal things for the tenants. Robin, of the maintenance staff, has been truly awesome - very responsive and fixes anything right the first time! Only negatives in 7 yrs. were when we lived on the 2nd floor. We had lots of spiders - but I live in morbid fear of them! And I've only seen a few normal size roaches when we lived there - always when I left the dishes unwashed overnight. We had a noisy neighbor there, too, but she was evicted. The previous maintenance man was awful but he is no longer there. Overall, we all love it and won't be going anywhere until we buy.
