Good value for starter apartments in Northern Virginia.

Years at this apartment: Pre-1980 - 1988
Formerly Hamlet East Apartments, before Winkler Mgt. Companies renamed all the 4 Hamlets. Built well during 1960?s, when upscale for young singles and new families. Good nature grounds and recreational areas--a Winkler pride. Noticeably deteriorated since then, due to buildings wear-out and tenancy changeover to immigrants starting in 1980?s. Drugs, crimes, unsanitary trash rooms infiltrated with the tenancy changeover--different lifestyles with cultures of today?s largely South American and ------- cultures in these apartments. Frequent summertime power outages, due to overloaded demands in western Alexandria. Parking tight after work, ever since former City Transportation Director Dayton L. Cook banned rush hour parking on Sanger Avenue--the main artery road for these apartments.
