a dump From: nijohnso Date posted: 5/10/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   My girlfriend and I moved in April 2005, and initially it looked decent. Large apartment, balcony, the price was right, location wasn't horrible. And then the roaches showed up. MW will leave an apartment vacant for a month with all of the lights on and cabinets open, so then you don't see the roaches when you check the place out. We complained immediately, and they sent a guy out to spray. He has been back a half dozen times, and the problem is as bad as ever. We keep the counters spotless and never leave dirty dishes or food out, but there are still roaches everywhere. It's miserable. Then there's management. They're really nice to your face when you go down to talk to them. But they are so incompetent, and they blame their mistakes on you. Just recently we received an eviction notice because they said we didn't pay our rent. Turns out they couldn't read my hand-writing, so their bookkeeper just made up an amount and said we owed the rest (didn't stop them from cashing the check). We showed them a copy of the cashed check and they said "oops, well next time write more clearly." Several times they have given a key to a prospective resident, and sent them to the wrong apartment (ours) rather than the empty apartment in our building. There's nothing more unnerving than a stranger unlocking your door and walking into your apartment. Management's response: "oops." They're horrible, they just have no idea what they're doing, and you have to explain things several times in order for them to know what you're talking about. Maintenance is pretty good. At least the guys are. It takes them a while to get to you, because management is horrible, but the actual maintenance guys do a good job. The neighborhood itself is miserable also. Nobody speaks English. They pile 10 people into a 2 bedroom apt. They play loud salsa music at all hours of the day, from 8am to midnight. Everyone leaves trash in the yard, there are bottles and wrappers everywhere. And parking is horrible. The lots are very small, and you are guaranteed to have a few dents and broken windows before you leave. This place just sucks, don't waste your time.
