I moved into this apartment complex after PCSing from the Republic of Korea. When we moved in, we were offered a discount if we paid our rent by Government allotment. I completed my allotment request in the presence of management and I showed them the My Pay screen that this had been accomplished. At the end of the month, the bookkeeper told me that the allotment had not gone thru, so being a good renter; I paid my monthly rent directly to management, $947. I have had some experience that if you request an allotment late in the month, it may not be sent, so I went ahead and paid the bill.
As you might understand, with all the moving expenses paying out this amount of money constrained my family with other additional bills that had to be met. At the end of the next month, they told me again that they had not been paid, so again I dug into our meager money and paid them. I became very concerned that after TWO months they had not been paid, so I called Defense Finance and Accounting and they informed my that Meadow Woods had been paid. I approached the management and informed them of this situation, but to keep them from giving me the bums rush out the door, I paid the book keeper, a totally surly and incompetent person.
We contacted the parent company, SCOTT MANAGEMENT COMPANY, AND WE DISCOVERED THAT INDEED THEY HAD BEEN PAID AN THAT THEY OWED ME TWO MONTHS RENT. Then another series of BS began. When they asked me for the money, erroneously, I paid the cash over the counter. Now that I have shown them there mistake and how they screwed me, they told me that it would take several weeks to get my money back. I found that totally unacceptable and drove to the main office with great difficulty. Their fault but I and my family were the ones who suffered. To make a long story shorter, they took almost a week to pay me back.
Yesterday, I came home to find a notice that I needed to pay my rent. I immediately checked on-line to see if the allotment was taken from my pay and it had been.
This afternoon when I came home I found a notice that I would be evicted within five (5) days if I did not pay. Now I find this particularly egregious as the incompetent book keeper did not even apologized the first time she screwed up, and now you threaten to throw me into the streets in five days!!!! And I know that they were paid but the continual lack of professionalism and incompetence, tempered with a most surly and sullen book keeper is becoming too much to bear, her rampant incompetence is totally overwhelming.
